So this is how it ends, is it?
You & others removing me from Facebook Friends!
What happened to “I’ll always care for you“,
and “you mean the world to me“, your words are untrue!

I know I’ve failed you in recent days,
after our time together – is this your way?
Conflicting text in emails that you send,
Is this how you treat me now we are ‘just‘ friends?

Feeling a loss and sadness in my heart,
wishing we could rewind time back to the start.
Friends cannot be lovers that remains true,
in your head you are now thinking this too!

Breaking up was hard and still is to this day,
listening to all of your reasons and the hurtful things you say.
You said “we were never a couple” and so your love for me ran out.
Maybe ‘we‘ never existed – mutual doubt.

I put on a brave face for you before
When you left I cried for at least an hour at my door
You said you did not want to cause me pain
You have moved on & I realise your feelings for me are not the same
I’m sat here now thinking what the fuck is wrong with me
Thinking about why you are in love with him! What is it you see?
Questioning why did you not want to wait and stand by my side
To ride out on the wings of change, was it hard to swallow pride?
Emotions running high, fuelled by foreign chemicals in my bloodstream
We were once lovers, now love is lost to another, a failed dream
All I have now in life is my sanity & composure
You have what you wanted & I… closure.

Something burning deep at the back of my head,
As I remember all the things that you have said
Churning and churning, round and round
Thoughts so loud, yet they make no sound

Your eyes tell a different story to what I hear
Something that I can’t deny, a feeling of utter fear
A lack of passion and lust between us now
I ask myself is it me, is it you, why and how?

Call it paranoia, or a simple lack of trust
Is it an excuse to be untrue, do you need time to re-adjust?
Secrecy, lies, jealousy and deceit
A twisted human emotion, uncovers a cheat

What had been on my mind for so long, is now true
Did you need to act in this way to prove what you already knew?
Your love for this man was lost and never going to last
And now only my life is torn apart, my love unsurpassed.

Taking a hold on reality and not letting me go

Would you argue your case, without judge or jury?
How would you plead, guilty or not guilty?
Will you be going down in vain or living on with honour

If I said it’s over
Would you ask for a second chance, and make it right?
How would you execute your plan a second time around?
Creating a passionate affair – making love that lasts a life time

Smile in the city today
Smile in your Woodsey way
The only smile I want to see
The one you reserve just for me

I’m going to the city today
I will be missing your smile in every way
The way you do it when your by my side
The way you do it with love and pride

I’m going to take look in Union Square
Search for something special for you there
Something that will bring a smile to your face
Something that is special, a reminder of this place

Felt awkward as I didn’t realise you felt this way
I made a mad lunchtime dash to Paperchase
Butterflies fluttering in my stomach, making my heart race

WTF! Face palm moment – the shelves are bare
I looked out the window & you were walking right there
Smiling at me through the window in a passing glance
My Valentine love… Last minute romance.
